It’s not uncommon for former patients of our Eva Women’s Clinic to come back after months, even years, of their encounters with us, sometimes for services, sometimes just to say hello. It’s very rewarding to be able to see what the Lord has done. Here’s one story about a woman who sought us out after many years.
Recently, a patient came in for two things: first, to get an ultrasound, but even more heartwarming, to tell us about their journey. The last time this woman was here we were Pregnancy Choices. Now that was indeed a minute ago, in fact, she was a teenager when she darkened our doors. She told us that she was “clueless’ back then. She was young, fearful and not ready to have a child. Now here she is standing in front of us ten years later, sharing how helpful we were during that very difficult time.
You see, as a child she had experienced emotional trauma, so she didn’t have a positive role model about how to raise a child. Through encouragement from our staff, she sought professional counseling and education. It paid off, sharing with us that coming to Eva was the best decision she ever made. Due to not having a strong relationship with her parents, she said she learned to be a good mom from her time with us.
Believing she may be pregnant again, she then went on to have an ultrasound performed to confirm she was with child. While that was wonderful, her main reason for coming in again was to say thank you. Our hearts were full!
You’re probably wondering what happened to the child she learned about years ago. We’re happy to report that she went on to have her baby who is excited about being a big sister soon!
