When moms and dads come to the parenting classes at The Pregnancy and Parenting Center they receive vouchers. When they go to the TPPC baby boutique to cash those vouchers in on needed items for their baby, they are met with the smiling face of Cindy Knight. Cindy has been volunteering in this capacity for about 7 years. She enjoys building relationships with the parents who attend regularly.
“The parenting classes are so practical and always Bible based. I could have used that info when I was a young mother,” she said.
Her two kiddos are now age 35 and 32. She and her husband, Tim, have been married for 44 years. They were high school sweethearts.
Cindy is a nature lover. She spends spare time hiking, kayaking, and bird watching. For 31 years she worked for the Ohio Parks and Recreation as an administrative assistant at Quail Hollow, Guilford Lake, and Wingfoot Lake State Parks. Now she works very part time helping a florist decorate for weddings.
Gardening, reading mysteries, and golfing round out her spare time in retirement.
Cindy volunteers because God has blessed her so much and it just seems right to give back.
She sends kudos the TPPC staff. “They have always made me feel appreciated.”
Cindy, we appreciate you and the love you share with our clients.
