“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your
good works and give glory to the Father that is in Heaven.”
– Matthew 5:16
In my humble opinion, our team are all rockstars. Then again, I’m biased but for good reason. Let me tell you one story of why.
It was just another day. Recently, Jo Ressler, our Client Services education coordinator, went to the YWCA to share our programming with their Stark County HeadStart early childhood development program staff. They had received a grant to begin seeing pregnant women. Two amazing things happened.
At the beginning of the meeting their staff went around introducing themselves and what they did at the YW. One woman asked Jo if she recognized her. She told her in 2019 she found herself pregnant with her fifth child. She was filled with fear and despair, not knowing how she would be able to care for yet another child. She then went on to tell Jo that she was the advocate who talked her off the edge. The woman decided to have her baby and was eternally grateful to Jo for helping her to choose life. Her little girl is now five and is a true blessing. Praise God!
Jo didn’t remember that particular situation, but her heart was full knowing she made an impact not only in this person’s life, but her child’s life too.
Jo shared about our other ministries; Eva Women’s Clinic, Hope & Healing and Stand Up for YOUth. After the meeting the same woman came quietly asking for more information on Hope & Healing.
Secondly, it was a client who suggested the YW partner with us by telling them she wouldn’t have survived had it not been for the services we provided for her and her two children years earlier. Our support of her, the things she learned through our classes, and the material items she was able to take advantage of saw her through.
Jo walked away knowing that God had His hands all over this meeting. Her light indeed shined brightly providing good works and giving glory to Him.
Yours in Christ,
Paula
