Colleen Mallette has volunteered with the Pregnancy Support Network for 11 years. After reading Rick Warren’s book, The Purpose Driven Life, she realized her passion for the pro-life cause and was led to our center to serve. Initially, she planned to do data entry or reception work since that was her background, but after going through the TPPC orientation training she unexpectedly felt those butterflies of God calling her to be bold and step out of the box by being a client advocate.
In her first year as a volunteer, she had an appointment with a young pregnant girl whose story touched her heart so strongly she has never forgotten her. This young woman had such a rough upbringing and yet was so brave and independent, with an incredible determination to lovingly carry her baby to term. With each question Colleen was more and more impressed with her strength and courage. They eventually discussed spiritual beliefs, and she learned that the girl’s source of strength was from her quiet faith. When she asked at the end of the appointment if she could pray for the client, she also silently asked God to help with the words, being new at praying out loud for these clients. The prayer that came forth was definitely inspired by God and it led them both to tears and a big hug.
“Moments like these are what keep me coming back; to be able to share in God’s glory of new life, embolden mothers, and see His Hand working through me to help these struggling girls.”
Colleen and Jeff have been married for almost 34 years and have three grown children. She is the bookkeeper for Jeff and their son’s dental practice. The big news in their family was their daughter’s wedding last month (July, 2025).
