“Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established.”
–Proverbs 16:3
This isn’t going to be a traditional story I bring to you monthly. It’s not a coincidence. Some call it divine intervention. It’s a reminder that the Lord always provides. He puts people, things and situations in our paths to guide us when we trust in Him. This is one such story. Some call this a God wink.
Jo Ressler is our client services education coordinator. It’s her job to teach our moms and dads how to be better parents—even people—and, while she’s at it, bring them to the Lord if possible. This story, however, put someone in her path that has nothing to do with her job, rather this woman came to her as a sign that “Nancy,” the new mobile ultrasound unit coming to us soon, is going to do amazing work to expand our services beyond our brick-and-mortar locations.
Recently, Jo was on her way to Virginia to spend time with family. As she always does, she prayed that Jesus would seat her next to someone with whom she can forge a fleeting relationship, talk about common things, and maybe even learn something. Her seat mate, Katherine, from Greenwood, Mississippi, and she exchanged pleasantries. Obviously, Jo asked Katherine what she does for a living. It just so happens that she works on a mobile ultrasound unit for the Greenwood pregnancy center! She went on to tell Jo they’ve had theirs for a year now and shared many stories of how it has greatly enhanced their outreach services in their community. They had a delightful time together swapping stories about helping people and saving lives. It doesn’t get much better than that.
In September, several of our staff members are going to the annual Care Net Conference. Katherine will be there too. We are making arrangements to meet up with her to talk about their experiences, and hopefully get some suggestions.
You never know when God is going to wink at you if you believe in Him!
Note: Hopefully you’ve seen recent marketing on “Nancy” as ours is named. She is being built in Colorado and we anticipate taking delivery in September. Stay tuned for more about her and the plans we have for our “special delivery.”
Blessings!
